Spectra Precision LR30W Wireless Laser Machine Display Receiver

The Spectra Precision LR30W Laser Machine Display Receiver brings reliable laser grade indication directly to construction equipment used for grading, excavation, and site preparation.

Designed for use on equipment such as dozers, scrapers, and skid steers, the LR30W provides 360-degree laser reception, highly visible LED grade indicators, and three selectable accuracy settings. Operators can configure the receiver for everything from rough earthmoving to tighter finish-grade work.

For applications where the receiver itself may be difficult to see from the operator's position, the LR30W also supports a wireless connection to the Spectra Precision RD20 in-cab display, extending grade information into the cab.

Grade Information Where the Operator Needs It

The LR30W uses bright LED indicators to provide a clear visual reference of the machine's position relative to the established laser plane.

Its 360-degree reception allows the receiver to detect the rotating laser signal from any direction, reducing the need to continually reposition the machine or receiver to maintain signal reception.

The receiver provides a 171 mm (6.75 in) vertical reception area, helping maintain laser detection as equipment moves across changing terrain.

Three Accuracy Settings

Different stages of earthwork require different levels of precision. The LR30W provides three selectable grading tolerances so the operator can configure the receiver for the work being performed.

Accuracy Mode Tolerance
Fine 5 mm (0.20 in)
Standard 12 mm (0.45 in)
Wide 32 mm (1.25 in)

Use the wide setting where broader grade tolerances are appropriate, then move to standard or fine accuracy as the project requires tighter elevation control.

Five-Channel Grade Display

The LR30W uses five display channels to communicate the machine's relationship to grade.

Highly visible LEDs provide the operator with an immediate visual reference, while green LEDs indicate on-grade, making it easier to recognize when the desired elevation has been reached.

Display brightness can also be adjusted to accommodate different working conditions.

Wireless RD20 In-Cab Display Compatibility

The LR30W can communicate wirelessly with the Spectra Precision RD20 remote display, allowing grade information to be viewed from inside the machine cab.

The specified wireless range is up to approximately:

130 m (425 ft)

This configuration can be particularly useful when equipment geometry, receiver mounting position, or operator visibility makes it difficult to continuously view the receiver's LEDs directly.

Designed for Machine Grading Applications

The LR30W can support a range of earthmoving and elevation-control work, including:

  • Rough grading
  • Finish grading
  • Excavation
  • Site preparation
  • Earthmoving
  • Elevation control
  • General construction
  • Landscape grading
  • Roadwork
  • Drainage work

It can be used on compatible equipment including dozers, scrapers, skid steers, and other grading machinery.

Built for the Jobsite

Machine-mounted receivers operate in an environment exposed to dust, water, vibration, changing weather, and everyday construction activity.

The LR30W carries an IP66 environmental rating, providing protection against dust and water exposure for demanding field conditions.

Flexible Battery Options

The LR30W supports both alkaline and NiMH battery configurations. Runtime varies according to battery type, display brightness, and whether wireless communication is active.

Alkaline Battery Runtime

Operating Mode Approx. Runtime
Bright Display 50 Hours
Dim Display 75 Hours
Wireless – Bright 30 Hours
Wireless – Dim 40 Hours

NiMH Battery Runtime

Operating Mode Approx. Runtime
Bright Display 40 Hours
Dim Display 50 Hours
Wireless – Bright 20 Hours
Wireless – Dim 30 Hours

Lower display brightness can extend operating time when maximum LED intensity is not required.

Why Use a Machine-Mounted Laser Receiver?

A machine receiver allows equipment operators to reference an established rotating laser plane directly from the machine rather than repeatedly stopping work to manually check elevation.

With its 360-degree reception, selectable accuracy levels, and highly visible grade indication, the LR30W provides a practical solution for maintaining elevation during earthmoving and grading operations.

Adding the compatible RD20 wireless in-cab display can further improve visibility by bringing the receiver information directly to the operator.
